Privacy Policy
In short: MiniSMO needs no Kaldrivon account and has no telemetry and no analytics. Kaldrivon receives nothing from the app. What MiniSMO stores stays on your PC, and it connects only to the devices and systems you set up, plus GitHub to check for updates.
This website uses a Google advertising tag and Google Fonts and is delivered through GitHub Pages and Cloudflare, which see your IP address when you visit.
Who we are

Kaldrivon MiniSMO
What MiniSMO stores, and where
Everything MiniSMO keeps is stored on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Kaldrivon\MiniSMO for your Windows account, or in %ProgramData%\Kaldrivon\MiniSMO when you run MiniSMO as a Windows service:
- the network functions you add (names, addresses, ports, user names) and their configuration snapshots;
- device passwords and other credentials, encrypted with Windows DPAPI for your Windows account (as a Windows service: with a key that only the service account can read);
- if you turn on Team mode: the user accounts you create (user name, role, and a salted scrypt hash of the password, never the password itself) and the sign-in sessions of their browsers;
- monitoring data: alarms, performance measurements, VES events, measurement files, the NETCONF log;
- settings, automation rules, API tokens you create, the audit log, application logs, backups and exports;
- your license file, if you install one.
How long monitoring data is kept follows the retention settings in the app. Passwords are masked in logs, exports and snapshots. Uninstalling keeps this folder so that a reinstall brings everything back; delete the folder, or use Reset MiniSMO in Settings, to remove it.
What MiniSMO sends, and to whom
- To your devices and systems: MiniSMO connects to the network functions, file servers, webhooks and R1 data consumers you configure (NETCONF over SSH, SFTP, FTPES, HTTPS). It sends them what their function requires, such as credentials you entered for that device and the events you chose to forward. It also listens on this PC for VES events, PM file uploads and NETCONF Call Home from your devices, and, in Team mode, for the browsers of the people you give accounts to.
- To GitHub, for updates: once a day (Check for updates: Once a day, on by default from version 0.6.0; you can switch it to Only when I select CHECK NOW in SYSTEM > About), and when you select CHECK NOW, MiniSMO asks
api.github.comfor the list of Kaldrivon MiniSMO releases. When you confirm a download, it downloads the installer from GitHub. GitHub receives your IP address and the app name and version in the request. No other information is sent. See the GitHub Privacy Statement. - Nothing to Kaldrivon: MiniSMO does not report usage, crashes, devices, data or license use to Kaldrivon or anyone else. Licenses are checked on your PC, without contacting a server.
The built-in Help works offline. Links in the app to outside websites open in your browser, where those websites' own policies apply.
Microsoft Store
If you install MiniSMO from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download and your Store account under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Kaldrivon may see aggregated acquisition and install reports that Microsoft provides to publishers, not who you are.
This website (kaldrivon.com)
- Hosting and delivery: the site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and downloads and to protect the site, they process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages or files requested, under their own policies (GitHub, Cloudflare).
- Google tag: the home page loads Google's tag (gtag.js) to measure the results of Google Ads campaigns. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address, the page you visited and how you arrived. You can limit ad personalization at My Ad Center and block these cookies in your browser. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Google Fonts: the home page loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when it fetches the font.
- Email: if you email [email protected], your message and address are used to reply to you and are not sold or shared for marketing.
The website has no user accounts or forms, and Kaldrivon does not sell personal information.
